Every project begins with a consultation to explore your vision, lifestyle, budget, site constraints and project goals. We usually discuss approval pathway options with a view to decide whether to pursue a Development Application or Complying Development Certificate.

We develop create thoughtful concepts that maximise natural light, airflow, functionality and connection to the surrounding environment. We meet to discuss these concepts and gather your feedback and insights to develop a final design for your home.

In response to your concept feedback, we refine layouts and spatial planning to create a home that reflects how you live, specifiying exterior materials that meet your budget and vision, and respond to the local environment.

Once the design is resolved, we prepare detailed documentation and manage the approval process on your behalf, liaising with councils, certifiers and consultants to streamline the journey from concept to approval.

A unique partnership with build company, Westmade Projects, means we’re able to bridge the gap between design, approvals and construction. If you choose to work with another builder, or manage the project yourself, you can skip this offering.

For clients seeking a seamless experience, we also offer interior design services to coordinate finishes, fixtures and selections and lighting and electrical plans. Interior design is offered as a stand-alone service for clients who already have architectural plans, or who would simply like some guidance on elevating the existing interiors of your home.
Maddie Westblade
Maddie founded her studio in 2022 with a vision to create considered homes that tell the unique stories of the people who inhabit them. Her philosphy is that the most meaningful interiors are defined by the histories, lifestyles, interests and aspirations of those who call them home.
Holding tertiary qualifications in Residential Drafting and Interior Design, Maddie brings both creative expertise and technical knowledge to every project. Her empathetic and collaborative approach allows her to deeply understand her clients, translating their experiences, values and vision into spaces that feel authentic, functional and deeply personal.
Outside of her own design practice, Maddie works alongside her master-builder husband in their sister-business Westmade Projects. For those clients looking for a seamless approach to creating their new home, this partnership offers a uniquely integrated approach to residential design and building, combining the creativity of an interior designer and draftsperson with the practical expertise of a builder involved from the earliest stages of a project.
